YWCA of Nigeria provides leadership and services on a broad range of health issues that are peculiar to women and girls. It has worked with various partners in its goal to provide information, knowledge and services to combat the negative effects of HIV/AIDS and other STIs, high rate of maternal mortality, prevalence of breast & cervical cancer, and lack of access to comprehensive and age appropriate sexual and reproductive health services for women and girls. We carry out programmes and advocacy interventions around policies and actions that call for zero tolerance to female genital mutilation, child marriage and other harmful traditional practices that negatively affect the health of women and girls.
